This is a competition for bragging right, for now, and the title of being Anime North's (Singing/Dancing/Cultural) Idol of 2009.
A maximum of 12 singers, dancers and cultural performers will be brought past the auditioning stage.
=Criteria
-Singing
---The song has to be related to anime or Japanese culture somehow, and can be in any language.
---For the competition itself, you will need to prepare a total of 4 songs, one song for each stage, and an acapella piece for the 2rd round.
---You will need to submit all of these songs, & choose your order.
---The ONLY preset genre for any round IS the last round. It must be a very vocal strength demanding song for a grand finale to this competition.
---These should be in AUDIO CD format. Meaning it should be one that's made under Windows Media Player, and burnt into an 80minute CD. (PM for help/info)
-Dancing
---You can bring your own music, but it has to be anime or Japanese music, meaning it has to be by a Japanese artist, or sung in Japanese
---Other music can be requested, but cannot be changed in the middle of the stage. You must work with what you have.
---Submit any songs that you would like to dance to at the competition.
---These should be in AUDIO CD format. Meaning it should be one that's made under Windows Media Player, and burnt into an 80minute CD. (PM for help/info)
-Cultural/Traditional
---Submit your soundtrack needed for your performance.

=Staging
-Singing
---There will be five rounds, the first two rounds taking off 3 singers each, meaning this will be a tough competition, bringing the best of the best out.
---The second round will be an acapella round, trimming around those who can sing, and those who sound good with music.
---The third round will remove 2 singers, the fourth removing 1-2 singers from the pool and stage off 2-3 singers for the title.
-Dancing
---There will be 6 genre stages, based on our competitor's abilities and skills.
---There will be two self-specialty stages, 1st stage; bring out each dancer's capabilities & personalities of dance. Final stage; present the complexity of their dance.
---There will be no cut made during the first stage. It is but an introduction.
---Performers can expect; 2 cuts in round 2, 2 in round 3, 4 in round 4, 1-2 in round 5 and the winner will be announced after round 6.
---Any prop needed for each stage has to be mentioned prior to Anime North as each stage will have been announced to competitors before hand as well.
-Cultural/Tradition
---You will have 5 minutes maximum to perform your act.
---There will be a maximum of 3 rounds in this to perform either, the same act, or a variation/different part of the entire performance.
---Any prop used for the performance must follow in order of Anime North's weapon rules, & will not be subjected under any Anime North responsibility if lost, stolen or damaged.
=Judging
-All judging of all three divisions will be made generally by the judges, and a part of it by the audience.
---Specific judging for Cultural/Traditional performers will be as followed; How precise/fluid you are with your movements, how complex is the performance, and how deeply traditional is it. Costume, props/preparation and execution is all taken into consideration
